"The man that hath no music in himself, Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds, Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night, And his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted." - William Shakespeare

Though "dark as Erebus" seems a bit harsh, I dig that quote and so I tend to agree. And while I wonder what, if any, music he and I would agree on, I think that given enough time I could have him groovin on some Marley or rockin out to Zappa. I love thinking of that idea in reverse too, that is to think of an album or an artist who you could bring back in time to shock and amuse previous eras and maybe even catapult that entire generation into sharing a specific epiphany or idea that occurred to you when listening to your favorite C.D. Music has opened a lot of minds and it does so with style. I don't think we are as aware of it as much anymore but music has been responsible for demanding a lot of social epiphanies and not only that, but it made them cool. I'm sure there are those that would argue but if that's true for me then I'd like to think its true for others as well. What an awesome thing to impact even one of us like that, let alone all of us. Which is why this page is dedicated to good music. Its something I'll never tire of. That fat eternal groove we all get to tap into is absolutely awesome but when you multiply that against the way we each come to understand and interact with it, its something truly rare.

Sometimes its easy to loose sight of that because we take so much of it for granted, especially lately. (sigh...) Yes, most hit artists now have about as much musical integrity as a box of dook but you cant blame that on the music. That's just people. We did the same thing to religion, politics, sex... you name it. We seem to isolate, conquer and strangle whatever pure concept we can find to make an extra buck to waste on whatever meaningless stupid shit we think we need at the time. Aahhh... mans constant search for material fulfillment, What a joke. Money, power, success, recognition... how profoundly pointless. It's hard for me to believe these corrupt concepts still drive most people. The answer is easy kids: Love.. Peace.. and God. Its the only thing that's still pure and that we haven't messed up yet. I guess your welcome to whatever turns you on, but for me, its as easy as something to play and some bitchin tunes to jam with. It always comes down to perspective. Ultimately you choose what side your on, either the side creating the love and passion that brings us back to what's really important, or the side that's sucking the life out of that love and sticking it in a box with a pretty package for your soul in just 3 easy payments.

So just who am I? I'll probably add more on that later even though I really don't see the point. If your here then you already know who I am and if you don't, then why would you care? For now I'm just a dood sittin here writin this jizz when I should be practicing guitar. but I keep finding more cool music to listen to. heh, its becoming, compulsive, neurotic even... its great!  Ehhh... of course with the internet this is almost possible but I'm starting to realize that the more music you discover, the more music it turns you on to, and eventually you realize that there is far more music out there then you will ever be able to suck up in your lifetime which is why you start dissecting it, categorizing it, defining it... and before you know it your crossing genres and boundaries and the whole thing is a complete mess. There is no way to accurately do this. Its too big. Which is why I've decided you have to listen to as much of it as you can, and just love it all. Just suck it up, find something to dig and if you feel so inclined, share the jems! Or make your own. Now, go check out a couple tunes featured here. Even if you've never heard of em, They are all good. :)

Peace!
